Captured at the peak of their powers, the Rainbow Theatre show landed on New Year’s Eve 1977, when the Ramones had spent two years essentially inventing a template that British punk had already run with and exported back to them. The London crowd that night understood exactly what they were witnessing, and the electricity is palpable across all 28 tracks. As a document of the original four-piece firing on all cylinders, nothing else in their catalog comes close.

Double vinyl LP pressing. This is The Ramones 1977 New Year’s Eve show from the Rainbow Theatre in London. The album draws material from the band’s first three studio albums, Ramones (1976), Leave Home (1977), and Rocket to Russia (1977). It is the last album to feature all four original band members: Dee Dee Ramone, Joey Ramone, Johnny Ramone, and Tommy Ramone, originally released in 1979.
