Released at the tail end of a decade that hadn’t always been kind to classic rock’s elder statesmen, Journeyman marked a genuine creative resurgence for Clapton, balancing his blues roots with the polished, song-focused approach that would define his early ’90s peak. The ensemble of collaborators reads like a who’s who of the era’s finest, and the newly surfaced session material offers a rare window into how that chemistry actually developed in the studio.

Eric Claptons ‘Journeyman: Deluxe Edition’ brings new life to the iconic 1989 album with three previously unreleased tracks uncovered from the original recording sessions plus an additional bonus track. The album features classic songs Pretending, Bad Love, and Running on Faith, with guest performances from George Harrison, Phil Collins, Chaka Khan, Daryl Hall, Robert Cray, and more. Journeyman . . . Its what I want to be known as; I like to think Im a craftsman. I think Im always working on mastering my craft.” – Eric Clapton
